Our 2005 Spring trip was pretty stinkin' cool! Where to begin....
Our trip started out at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, where we saw some exotic and weird-looking animals(Mr. Long was the tall one in the hat). Cool hippopotomuses...hippopotomi?...
This was a great opportunity to see great animals up close. An awesome peacock!
Next, we visited the Science Fiction Museum owned by Paul Allen. There were old copies of books and magazines celebrating the work of great authors, as well as awesome replicas of robots, space creatures, and other familiar sci-fi exhibits. Our group outside the Science Fiction museum
We topped the day off by going to an awesome Mariners game...unfortunately, they lost. The guys out on the mound
We told Mr. Long to quit hitting the bottle...but he wouldn't listen. We should send this picture to Aquafina and see if we get any money
In September of 2004, the Science Club decided to undertake a fish planting project at Deer Lake and Cramer Lake. Two different groups went.

The process for planting fish is fairly simple. First, the jug of fish is set down into the water. Then, gradually, a little water from the lake is put into the jug about 3 or 4 times to let the fish adapt to the new temperature. After the fish have become accustomed to the water, they are let into the lake. Fish being released into their new home!
In the fall of 2004, some of the Science Club members returned to Mount Ranier for some hiking. The hikers at Mount Ranier

In April of 2004, the science club went over to the Seattle Aquarium and the Imax Theater for a day filled with marine life.

For a number of our students, this was their first experience at the Aquarium.

In the middle of October 2003, 31 members of the science club went to Northwest Trek Animal Park to see several rare, but native northwest animals.

We were even lucky enough to spot a new born bison!

In late September 2003, several members of the science club took advantage of an off day from school to go hiking.
The result was a ten-mile trek to Shellrock Lake where students and teachers alike took in the spectacular views and tried out thier fishing poles.
Once at the lake it was time to relax...
After the hike in (5 miles in) we stayed at the lake for just over two hours.
Then it was time to head home (another 5 miles). The trip was great (and ehausting) for all!
The Science Club took a trip to Mt. Rainier in the fall of 2002.

The bus dropped us off at the Jackson's Vistor's Center at Paradise. The club members then took to their feet on a 4 mile round-trip hike to Panaroma Point.

Looking down on the Nisqually Glacier Valley. (Mt. St. Helens in the distance)
Way down there is the Paradise Lodge...you might even be able to see our bus if you look close enough!
The switch-backs on the way down the mountain.
And finally, Mr. Charbonneau. (Mt. Adams is seen in the distance)
